Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he came up through the youth system at Flamengo, completing his development in 2017 prior to being called up to the first-team. The teenager was handed his debut on 13 May 2017, making a brief cameo as a second-half substitute in Flamengo’s 1-1 draw against Atlético Mineiro. On 10 August 2017, the winger got on the scoresheet for the first time in his professional career, netting in a 5-0 win against Palestino in the Copa Sudamericana. In his only season with the Rubro-Negro, the teenager made 49 competitive appearances, scoring 10 goals and registering 4 assists. On 12 July 2018, Spanish giants Real Madrid acquired the services of the Brazilian forward for a fee of €46 million; the Brazilian followed in the footsteps of his fellow countrymen, past greats who dawned the ‘all-white’ of Madrid, such as Ronaldo de Lima, Kaká, Roberto Carlos, among many others. After a brief spell with Madrid’s junior side, he made his debut for the first-team on 29 September 2018, playing the final 5 minutes in a 0-0 draw against local rivals Atlético Madrid; his full-debut was to come a month later as Madrid trumped minnows Melilla 4-0 in the Copa del Rey. The winger bagged his first goal for the Los Blancos during a 2-0 win over Real Valladolid.
