Born in Arlon, Belgium on December 5th, 1995, Timo’s youth career was split between hometown club Royal Excelsior Virton, and KRC Genk, with the defender turning pro with the later, making his Belgian Pro League debut on 14th, September, 2014 against Club Brugge. The fullback would go on to make close to 100 appearances for Blauw-Wit before he was picked up by Italian Serie A club Atalanta on July 2017. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini identified the robust left back as a player with the ideal blend of dynamism and intensity to fit into his high pressing, compact system. Timo would go on to repay the faith shown by his coach, with the flying fullback's strength to get into attacking positions bolstering Atalanta’s free flowing attack which took Italy by storm as they toppled domestic goalscoring records. La Dea went on to reach the quarter finals of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals before elimination to PSG. Six short of a century of appearances for Atalanta, the Belgian defender decided to try on a new challenge, moving to English shores to join Leicester City in the summer of 2020. Timo made his Premier League debut on September 13th, 2020, helping The Foxes keep a clean sheet, and scoring at the other end in a 3-0 win over West Bromwich Albion. On the international stage he debuted for Belgium on September 7th, 2008, in a friendly against Scotland.
