Net Worth & Market Value
Net Worth16 Million Euro (14.3 Million Pound)
Market Value15 Million Euro (13.1 Million Pound)
He has been playing for a very long time in the German Bundesliga, at some of the biggest clubs too. But it wasn't untill he made the move to Arsenal that he really started earning big money. At the moment he is the highest paid Greek football player and we have estimated his Net Worth to be around 16 Million Euro (14.3 Million Pound). His Market Value is on the decline, defenders who are over 30 years old are generally not very attractive anymore. Especially given the fact that Sokratis inked a long term deal with Arsenal. We think his current Market Value is around 15 Million Euro (13.1 Million Pound).

This is the guy with arguably the most difficult last name in football: Sokratis Papastathopoulos. This massive Greek defender has played at numerous European clubs but he started his career at AEK Athens. After that he made the move to Italy (where he played for 2 teams) and later on to Germany (where he played for 2 teams as well). It was at Borussia Dortmund where he really made a name for himself. As a result, in the summer of 2018 Arsenal bought 'Papa' for a hefty 20 Million Euro fee. Arsenal's manager Unai Emery is definitely very impressed with the skills of the Greek defender. He has been a regular starter for Arsenal. The man from Kalamata is always praised for the impressive defense skills he brings to the table, he is very strong in the air and in man-to-man battles. He has played more than 80 games for Greece's national team and he also managed to play all 4 games for his home country at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He helped his nation get a clean sheet against Japan and he even score a goal in round of 16 against Costa Rica. Greece however did not manage to get to the last 8.
