Bio
Nemanja Matic wis a Serbian footballer who prefers to play as a defensive midfielder. During his youth career he played for Vrelo, Obrenovac, Red Star Belgrade, Partizan and Jedinstvo. He started his professional career at Kolubara as an, yes indeed, attacking midfielder. The player who is nowadays called The Monster because of his way of playing joined the Slovak club Kosice in 2007. After two years in Slovakia he signed at Chelsea for 1.5 Million Pound. Due this low transfer fee literally nobody expected something of him. He could develop his skills in peace, and so he did when he moved on loan to the Dutch club Vitesse. In the Eredivisie he played very well, but still there was no place for him at Stamford Bridge. The Portuguese club Benfica signed him in 2011, as part of swap deal involving David Luiz. In Portugal he won the Primeira Liga Player of the Year award of the 2012-13 season. In 2014 he moved back to Chelsea, the club who once took him to the Premier League. They had to pay a staggering 21 Million Pound. After the 2014-15 Premier League season he was named in the PFA Team of the Year. In July 2017 he signed in Manchester, where he became reunited with Jose Mourinho.
