Bio
He is an English professional football player who plays as a defender for Liverpool and the English national team. He was born in Catford, a district in the south of London. His father was born in Gambia. Despite the interest of many many other clubs, he started his professional football career at Charlton Athletic. He played himself in to the first team at the age of 17 years old, and after only one season he was the leader of the defence. He played for every possible youth team of England as well, and won the 2014 UEFA European Under-17 Championship with England U17. He completed one season for Charlton and then signed at Liverpool in the summer of 2015, who bought him for a fee of 3.5 Million Pound. The Liverpudlians offered Gomez a 3.5 year contract and he made his debut in the Premier League only a couple of months later against Stoke City on the 9th of August 2015. He was immediately important by giving the match winning assist to Coutinho. Sadly enough his insane development was stopped by an season ending anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing for England U21. One year later, in October 2016, he started training again with the first team of Liverpool.
