Born on July 22nd, 1998, in Montevideo, Uruguay, his footballing education began as early as 4 years of age with local side Estudiantes de la Unión; in 2008 he moved to Peñarol, a sporting club based in Montevideo to continue further development. The midfielder made his debut for the Carbonero’s first-team during the 2015/16 campaign and featured on 12 occasions in the Uruguayan Premier División. His performances impressed scouts from Europe’s top clubs which included the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Barcelona, but it was the Galactic pull of Real Madrid which attracted the promising starlet and in the summer of 2016 he signed for the Los Blancos. Fede had a very low key beginning to his career at the Spanish capital featuring for Real Madrid Castilla, and in 2017 was loaned out to fellow La Liga club Deportivo de la Coruña to help him adapt to the Spanish top division with regular first-team opportunities. Upon his return in 2018 Fede finally made his debut for Real Madrid on October 28th, in the group stages of the UEFA Champions League against Viktoria Plzen. Fede would have his breakthrough season the following campaign under the stewardship of club legend Zinedine Zidane. The midfield dynamo scored his first goal for the club in a 4-0 win over Eibar, and would go strength-to-strength makeing an astonishing 44 appearances in all competitions at just 21 years of age.
