Born in Barcelona, Catalunya, Spain, in 9 January 2001, EG3 had a football glued to his feet ever since he can remember. His innate talent spotted at an early age, La Masia, FC Barcelona’s youth academy installed him in their ranks at the tender age of 7. In a move which mirrored Cesc Fabregas’ transfer to English club Arsenal from Spain during the final year of his development, the defender moved to Manchester City in 2017 to the delight of coach legendary Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. After captaining City’s U18 and U19 sides to the UEFA Youth League, the Spaniard was handed his first team debut in the EFL Cup quarter final against Leicester City in December 2018. City would go on to win the competition giving the young centre back his first taste of silverware. The match would finish in a 1-1 draw with City winning on penalties. In stark contrast his Premier League debut on 21 September, 2019 as City routed Watford 8-0. The defender’s talents were more vividly on show with the Spanish national team; his accolades including the 2017 UEFA European Under-17 Championship and a couple of laters on the 2019 UEFA European Under-19 Championship, with the EG3 receiving high praise for his ability to come out of the defence with the ball and defending aerial threats.
