Player Bio

Born in Perth, Australia, on July 1st, 1989, the seeds for Daniel's love for racing was planted by his father who was a kart racer. Riccy followed in his old man's footsteps and took up karting when he was nine. In 2008 he joined the Red Bull junior team and success followed in Formula Renault and British Formula 3. In 2011 the Australian driver made his Formula One debut for a struggling HRT team in the British Grand Prix at Silverstone and finished 20th; his debut season didn't fare much better and would be one to forget. The following season saw him race in a much better care, the Toro Rosso. In his home circuit in Australia, Riccardo finished P9, and showed similar consistency throughout the rest of the season with only one DNF. In 2014 Red Bull announced the Honey Badger would replace his compatriot Mark Webber for the upcoming season. At the Australian Grand Prix Dan secured his first podium, finishing second behind Lewis Hamilton, but was later disqualified. This would not deter the Aussie as he clinched back-to-back podiums in Spain and Monaco, and would finally taste the victor's champagne in the Canadian Grand Prix. Dan finished his breakthrough season third in the championship. After 5 successful years with Red Bull he moved to Renault in 2019 and then shortly thereafter to McLaren in 2021. Daniel has 32 podium finishes and 8 Formula One race wins.
