Bio
Born in Bunia, DR Congo, his family emigrated to England in his early days, allowing him to begin his footballing prospects with the youth academy of Manchester United Football Club. After impressive performances at junior level, the boy from Congo was given his Manchester United debut on 29 January 2017 in an FA Cup fixture; featuring as a second half substitute during a 4-0 win over Wigan Athletic. Still a teenager, the defender made his full debut for the Red Devils on 7 May 2017, as Man Utd fell to a 2-0 defeat to rivals Arsenal. To help build the youngsters confidence, and aid his development by exposing him to regular first-team football, he was sent out on a season long loan to EFL Championship side Aston Villa ahead of the 2018/19 season. The Congolese centre-back made 28 appearances as The Villains won promotion to the Premier League via ‘EFL Championship Playoffs,’ edging out Derby County 2-1 in the final. Upon his return to his parent club ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League season, the 21-year old central defender was given more opportunities with the first-team. On the international stage he has chosen to represent England; the centre-back has appeared for The Three Lions at U19, U20 and U21 levels.
