Player Bio

Anssumane Vieira was born on 31 October 2002 in Bissau, Guinea-Bissau to Lourdes and Bori Fati. His father Bori left Guinea-Bissau to first emigrate to Portugal and later to the Andalusian town of Marinaleda near Seville, where the story of his son’s rise to football superstardom began. After spells with the youth setup of local side Herrera, and La Liga club Sevilla, the boy from Guinea-Bissau would join up with FC Barcelona’s legendary youth academy La Masia in 2012. Before long he would be following in the footsteps some of modern footballs greatest players: Xavi Hernandez, Andreas Iniesta, and Lionel Messi. Dubbed the “Jewel of La Masia,” Fatinho signed his first professional contract with Blaugrana in the summer of 2019. Soon the teenager made his first team and La Liga debut, coming on as a second half substitute in a 5-2 win over Real Betis on 25 August 2019. The following week he would score his first professional goal in a 2-2 draw against Osasuna to become the clubs youngest ever goalscorer and the third youngest goalscorer in Spanish top flight history at 16 years and 304 days. In December of the same year Fatinho wrote himself into the UEFA Champions League history books, scoring the winner in Barca’s 2-1 victory over Italian outfit Internazionale to become the competitions youngest goalscorer. Aside from his impressive record breaking feats as a teenager, the forward completed his debut season with FC Barcelona with 8 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions.
