Biography

Andrei Vasilevskiy, a goaltender for the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL), was born on the 25th of July 1994 in Tyumen, Russia. Vasilevskiy, who played junior hockey in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), made a successful transition to the NHL in 2014-15 and has been a rock-solid performer ever since. Andrei began his career playing in his native country of Russia with Salavat Yulaev Ufa, a member of the KHL. After two seasons in Ufa, this young man was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2012 edition of the NHL Draft.

In his rookie season with the Lightning, he played 16 games in the regular season. The Russian recorded 2.36 goals against average and a .919 save percentage then. However, despite his efforts, he had to go back to playing for the Syracuse Crunch, the primary development affiliate of the Lightning. The Crunch were his first-ever team after he moved from the KHL. Thankfully, it wasn’t much longer before the Tampa-based team realised that they needed his services. He honed his skills rather quickly and returned to play for the Lightning the very same year. This Russian has become an indispensable part of the squad now.

Andrei Vasilevskiy Wife

This young man is Russian and, like most other men in his country, chose to have a stable family life. He met a woman named Kseniya on a flight to Moscow. The man didn’t waste any time asking her out. The woman didn’t flinch. In fact, she liked his approach and said yes.

Who is Andrei Vasilevskiy currently dating?

Andrei began dating his wife, and the two of them wasted no time at all. They were married in 2014. If there’s one thing we have learned about him is that this man’s incredibly loyal. He isn’t going to cheat on his wife. Frankly, we don’t think he knows how to.

Family: Parents, Siblings & Children

If it fits, I sits. Only on my terms, though. People, that is how you should hold your cat if you would like to die a horrible death in your sleep tonight. Sleep with one eye open if you’ve done this. – via Instagram

Andrei was born to Andrei Leonidovich Vasilevski and Liudmila Vasilevskiaia. His dad, Andrei Sr., used to play as a Goaltender too. He has represented Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Russian SuperLeague. He has also played for Severstal Cherepovets and Rubin Tyumen. As a high-level performer, he knows the hardships that come with being a professional. That’s why he made sure that his son learnt all the right things from him early on. There isn’t much information about his mum, though. Our NHL star has a brother named Alexei and welcomed his son, Lukas, with Kseniya in 2015.

Yes, we know you’ve done it twice. But that’s no reason to bring it everywhere, is it? – via Instagram
