This athlete was born on July 12th, 1988, in Chicago, Illinois. Growing up wasn't so simple for this youngster as his single mother gave birth to him when she was only 18 years old. He played basketball from his early days, and in high school, this point guard led the state with 37.3 points in scoring per game and was named the Co-Player of the Year. He played two years of college basketball for the Arkansas Razorbacks before deciding to enter the NBA draft after some academic issues. He was selected as the 42nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. However, this point guard played in Europe in Ukraine, Greece, and Russia for the next three years before coming back to the NBA. In 2013 he joined the Houston Rockets and quickly became the franchises' starting point guard. With an acquired experience of hard European defending in his game, this point guard showed enormous defensive skills in the NBA and became famous for his lockdowns and his ability to apply pressure and lock the opposing player down. In the 2016/2017 season, the point guard was selected to the NBA All-Defensive First Team as only the fourth player in franchise history and the first since the great Scottie Pippen 27 years prior.
