Welcome to the wiki of Willy, the backup goalkeeper of Chelsea in the English Premier League. This guy is perhaps most famous for the infamous substitution incident involving both him and first goalkeeper Kepa. After Kepa cramped up and needed to be substituted in the League Cup Final, the Argentinian goalkeeper was ready to come on. The Spaniard however refused to come off and thus the substitution never happened. One of the most remarkable scenes in the history of English football! The goalie has actually played for a few other Premier League teams as well. He started his career at Boca Juniors in Argentina but he played the most games for Elche in the Primera Division. In 2014 he made the move to Manchester City, where he was the backup keeper behind Joe Hart and Claudio Bravo. At Chelsea he is the backup keeper behind Kepa and it is not expected that he will play a lot of games for the Blues. He also played for the Argentinian national team on a bunch of occasions, most noticably he played at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He played rather poorly in the first two games of the tournament and was benched for the 3rd game of the groupstage as well as the first match in the knock-out stage.
