Player Bio

Takehiro Tomiyasu was born in Fukuoka, Japan, on November 5th, 1998, and currently represents English club Arsenal and the Japanese national team. Tomiyasu is robust defender whose versatility in defence makes him a shoe-in in any position in the backline. After graduating from local club Avispa Fukuoka’s youth academy in 2015 he went on to play professionally. In 2017 a move to Sint-Truiden saw the right-back move to Europe, and a couple of years later Taki was signed by Italian Serie A club Bologna. The Japanese reputation grew every year and in 2021 he moved to England to put pen to paper on a deal which would see him become an Arsenal player. Taki hit the ground running in North London, becoming 'Gunner of the Month' in his first month at the club.
