He joined Chelsea’s youth academy at the age of sixteen. In the Netherlands he played for ADO Den Haag and Feyenoord. In 2012 he made his debut in the first team of Chelsea against Norwich City – the lad was only seventeen years old back then. He replaced Juan Mata in the last minutes of this Premier League game which Chelsea won with 1-0. He only played seven professional games for Chelsea, he never managed to become a regular at Stamford Bridge. In 2015 he moved on loan to Reading, and a year later he did exactly the same at Watford. In 2016 he moved on loan to Bournemouth for whom he played 10 games in the 2016-17 season. In June 2017 he signed a permanent contract at Dean Court and became the most expensive player of Bournemouth ever – they bought him for a fee of 20 Million Pound. A club record of the Cherries!
