Bio

Lys Émilien Mousset was born in Montivilliers to a Senegalese father and a French mother. As a kid he already loved the game and was always surrounded by a football - he started playing football at Soquence Graville. He seemed to be talented and moved to the slightly bigger club Havre Caucriauville. In 2006 he joined the youth academy of Le Havre. He impressed in the youth teams and joined Le Havre II in the 2012-13 season. During the 2013-14 season he made 14 goals in one season. They took him to the first team of Le Havre, for whom he made again 14 goals but this time in only 34 games. In June 2016 it was announced that Mousset would move to the Championship and join the side of AFC Bournemouth. Bournemouth paid a transfer fee of 7.3 Million Euro to the French club. He made his first goal for The Cherries on 6 January 2018, in a tie against Wigan Athletic for the FA Cup. Due to his double nationality he is eligible to play for Senegal and France. He played already plenty of games for the French youth teams such as France U20 (8 apps – 1 goal) and France U21 (8 apps – 5 goals). In July 2019, Lys signed for newly promoted Premier League club Sheffield United.
