Lucas Paquetá was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 27th, 1997, and currently represents Premier League club West Ham United and the Brazilian national team. He is a tricky attacking midfielder who is composed on the ball and combines close dribbling ability with clever passing. Luca is from native club Flamengo’s youth academy, and turned pro with Mengão in 2017. His breakout season saw him score 10 league goals from 32 games. This lead to a move to Europe with Serie A club AC Milan acquiring his services. Things didn’t go according to plan for the Brazilian in Italy and after just two seasons he was sold to French Ligue 1 club Lyon. He recovered his form in Ligue 1 and once again became a hot prospect after netting 21 and assisting 14 goals in 80 appearances. On the back of this strong display Premier League club West Ham United signed him to a long-term contract in the summer of 2022.
