Born in Poole, England, on November 23rd, 2001, Tino joined West London club Chelsea’s development centre programme at under-7s before officially signing with the youth academy at nine years of age. Since then the robust and powerful midfielder has made quite a name for himself playing for The Blues in youth football. The teenager particularly caught the eye in the 2018 FA Youth Cup Final as Chelsea routed rivals Arsenal 7-1 to lift the trophy. Impressed by his performances at development level, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard gave Tino his debut for the first team on September 25th, 2019, as the teenager featured in a Carabao Cup fixture against lower league opposition Grimsby Town which The Blues duly won 7-1. Six months later Tino made his Premier League debut, coming on as a second half substitute in a 4-0 win over Everton. Tino has appeared for England at under-17s, under-18s, and under-19s, although he is still eligible to play for Nigeria through his father’s side. The midfielder represented The Three Lions at the 2018 UEFA European Under-17 Championship held on home soil, and reached the semi finals before being eliminated on penalties by eventual champions Holland. In the summer of 2019 despite interest from a host of other Premier League clubs the midfielder put pen to paper to sign a five year contract with boyhood club Chelsea.
