In 2014 the centre back signed a contract with Manchester United that nets him a whopping salary of 4.6 Million Euro (4 Million Pound) per year. We have crunched the numbers, this means he earns €12,568 (£11,047) per day and €524 (£460) per hour!
Since you've been viewing this page, Chris Smalling has earned...
This means the average man needs to work for at least 11.2 years to earn the same as Mike earns in only 1 month.
The salary of the English centre back compared to his Manchester United teammates
Mike has been playing the Premier League for his entire career and we all know the salaries are the highest in that league. So it is very safe to say that he has made a ton of money playing football. His current net worth is about 24 Million Euro (22 Million Pound). His market value is dropping at the moment but we still think that any potentially interested clubs would have to pay heavily for this defender. His market value is about 25 Million Euro (23 Million Pound).
A baby is on the way! Sam is pregnant at the moment and they are expecting a boy.
Mother - Theresa
His mother has always been a huge source of inspiration for the centre back. This picture was posted on his Twitter-account stating: "The sacrifices you have made inspires us both. Thanks for putting up with us".
Brother - Jason
Meet his brother. Jason is like his best friend, the two talk all the time and he regularly comes to watch his games.
Look at this beautiful mansion. This 2.5 million pound home is where he and Sam live. Looking good!
Smalling Car - What does he drive?
He loves his car. This black model is worth about 150.000€ and is as luxurious as it gets.
He once parked his Bentley at a bus stop just to pick up some take-away food. Luckily he was not caught. Better be careful next time!
He is a very robust centre back, who is currently playing for Manchester United in the Premier League. He has been at United for a very long time now, given the fact that he joined the club in 2010. He has played an gigantic amount of matches for the Red Devils but he has never really blossomed into a world class defender. He had some really good seasons but overall he has not managed to become the number 1 defensive option after the likes of Vidic and Ferdinand left the club. That is not saying he is not a great defender though, because he definitely is. Especially during the 2013-2016 period he was a regular starter and he even became Champion of the Premier League several times over (2011 and 2013). The story behind his nickname is actually rather funny. Manager Louis van Gaal mistakenly called him 'Mike Smalling' on a press conference. He obviously was in the wrong but the nickname stuck and teammates still call him Mike sometimes. He has stated that he will probably never shake off this nickname and we think it is pretty funny. Mike has also played international football for the English national team but unfortunately for him he was not a part of the 2018 squad that made it to the semi-finals of the world cup.
