Born in Banjul, Gambia, the formative years of his footballing journey took place in his native land. In 2016 an opportunity to train with Seria A club Atalanta’s youth programme took the young man to Italy. A couple of years later the Gambian would be making his debut against the mighty Juventus in a Coppa Italia fixture. He made his debut for the Gambian national team on September 2018, in a 1-1 draw with Algeria. 12 months later another major milestone followed with his first run out in Europe’s premier club competition - the UEFA Champions League. The frontman departed La Dea having made 52 appearances in all competitions. Bologna was to be his next destination. The 2020/21 campaign proved to be a breakthrough success for the striker, having featured in every Seria A game and recording 18 goals and assists.
