Player Bio
This athlete, a third baseman for the Los Angeles Angels, was born in Houston, Texas, on June 6, 1990. At Hodges Bend Middle School, he was a standout basketball player, track athlete, and baseball player. Tony Two Bags attended George Bush High School for his first two and a half years of high school before moving to Lamar High School. Tony was a member of the Rice University Owls baseball team. The Nationals selected Rendon sixth overall in the 2011 MLB draft. As a professional, he started with the Double-A Harrisburg Senators, but things moved pretty quickly. When Ryan Zimmerman was placed on the disabled list on April 20, he was called up by the Washington Nationals. His debut for them came that year after replacing Danny Espinosa. This two-time Silver Slugger Award winner signed a 7-year, $245 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels on December 11, 2019. He made his debut for the LA-based team on July 28, 2020. The winner of the Dick Howser Trophy in 2010, Tony is also a World Series champion and made it to the All-Star team and the All-MLB First team in 2019.
