Born in West Virginia in a family that loved music and travelled a lot thanks to her mum, Jesse Lynn Madera settled in Houston when she was 11 years old. The musician completed her high school at the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before going on to study classical theatre at the North Carolina School of the Arts. The program was led by director Gerald Freedman, and she remained with the program for a year before attending the Tisch School of the Arts to study acting. Despite all the distractions, her heart was fully set on becoming a musician, and she pursued her interests upon graduating from college.

A young Jesse who was living in New York at the time would have never met Hemky had it not been for fate. The year was 2010, and when these two souls met, they knew that they were meant to be with each other. Hemky, who was already an established actor, persuaded Jesse to move to Los Angeles. She didn’t think twice because she knew that she wanted to be with him. Also, the fact that moving to the West Coast would increase her odds of succeeding as a musician was what made her do it.
