A Mexican national by birth, this young man was interested in showbiz from an early age. Thanks to his reserved nature, he was never going to be in front of the camera. Edgar was always intrigued by photographs, and he wanted to see if he could turn his passion into a full-time career. Edgar Bahena pursued and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Visual Arts from UAEM. Whilst there, he specialized in Film, Photography and Animation. Edgar also went to the Active School of Photography in Cuernavaca to receive a Diploma in Still Photography. His academic training also included receiving a Diploma in Visual Communications from The Illinois Institute of Art.
Edgar has also attended the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica. Mr Bahena then went on to complete his formal education at The London Film School. He earned his Master of Cinematography there. Edgar has never talked about his parents or his siblings in the public domain before.

This young man pursued academics in a field of his choice. However, to become something, he knew that he had to show his talents to the world. To show us what he was truly capable of. Theoretical knowledge wasn’t enough. He made his mind up and chased his goals. The man knew that he had to get to Hollywood if he wanted to make it big. However, that was easier said than done. This Director of Photography went through a lot before getting his big break with La Reina del Sur in 2022.
