Who is Christopher Johnston? The unknown man who used to be the husband of Merle Dandridge

Merle Dandridge, the actress who plays Marlene in The Last of Us, is an incredible specimen. She’s a mix of Japanese/Korean on her mum’s side and Black American on her dad’s. This is the first time we’ve across someone with this particular mix of variety in one person. If you thought that this article was about Merle and that we were going to sing her praises, then you’d be wrong. We’ve dedicated this piece to Christopher Johnston, her ex-husband. Chris is a white American man who was born in the USA. Both his parents are white too, and he completed his formal education in the country. This gentleman has erased all details about his personal life from the internet, and what’s remaining is a little bit of his dignity and an odd photo with his ex. He is clearly not the type who takes failure slightly and would do whatever it takes to get his honour back.

Christopher Johnston and Merle Dandridge – The beginnings

When Steve Jobs said that we can only connect the dots looking backwards, he was talking to you lot. Unlike you, though, we saw this one coming. We’re prudent like that because what would an exotic woman and a bland-looking white man have in common? She would have thought of him as a pet project from the beginning, and that’s what Merle did too. To be honest, we were pleasantly surprised that these two decided to push on with the marriage.

Upon deciding to become man and wife, these two exchanged their vows in 2011 and began what everyone thought was going to be an exciting journey. It was at first, and Merle did enjoy parts of it. The actress even developed routines where she’d come back home and kiss her husband first before anything else. It was blissful to an extent, but as we had predicted earlier, their marriage came to an end. Irreconcilable differences were stated as the reason for them to split, and when it was finalised in 2019, the final nail in the coffin was hit, and a living person was buried in it.

What has happened to Christopher Johnston since the divorce? 

Whilst Merle has moved on with her life, Chris opted to take the quieter road out. He clearly didn’t enjoy what he had gone through and was not going to become fodder for the press. Christopher has always enjoyed his life irrespective of Merle’s presence in it. The man has his goals, and we heard that he’s working on them and trying to improve himself in every aspect that he can. It’s not going to be long before he gets back on the saddle and starts to ride again. We’ll patiently wait till he does that. However, it remains to be seen if he’ll be open about his relationship this time around.
