Alex Lanipekun’s Biography
Alexander Olaseni James Lanipekun was born during the Brixton riots in 1981. This Londoner’s dad is a Nigerian, whilst his mum has English and Italian roots. Although we don’t know the names of his parents, we know that they separated when he was a child. Alex was raised by his mum as an only child. He grew up in the North London area and went to University College London to obtain a BSc degree in Anthropology. This gentleman received a grant to complete his studies. As someone interested in arts from a young age, Alex went to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art to further his education. His life as an artist had already begun, though.
Alex Lanipekun’s career
The National Youth Music Theatre held an audition in which Alex took part as a 13-year-old. After being selected by them, the young man got to play the role of Leroy The Boxer in the musical adaptation of the film Bugsy Malone. This was the start of his long and illustrious career. His first big performance was at the theatre in 2004 when he played the role of Ernesto in Eyes Catch Fire which was directed by Daniel Nyman. This gentleman’s TV debut came in 2007.
The show was called Spooks, and he got to play the role of Ben Kaplan in it. Alex made his film debut in the 2001 flick The Fourth Angel. He had to wait nine years to play another role in a feature film. Although some might say that this youngster hasn’t shined as much as he would have liked, performing in over 25 movies and TV series means that he has something going for him.
