Accused of failure to report an attempted match-fixing during the Scommessopoli betting scandal of 2011-2012, Antonio Conte came under the scanner during his period as a manager of Siena on the complaint raised by former Siena player- Filippo Carobbio.
Even though none of the other 23 players of the Siena club corroborated these accusations, he was suspended from football for 10 months on August 10, 2012, which was reduced to four months after an appeal made on the 23rd later that month. However, Antonio Conte and his family have always maintained that he was wrongly accused and was innocent, and they left no page unturned in supporting him.
During an interview about the investigations, Conte didn’t fail to express his deepest gratitude for the unyielding support of his wife and daughter. He said- that he has a great woman by his side. He added that she is one who always tries to understand him and stand by him.
